Weekly Notes 25th July
26 Jul 2022County Senior Hurling and Football Championships
On Friday last out Senior Hurlers began their defence of the Dan Breen Cup with a draw against 2020 winners Kiladangan. For the third consecutive year it was a close game between the two sides which could have gone either way. A tense final few minutes ultimately resulted in the honours being shared at 18 points a piece.
We will now play JK Brackens in the next round in two weeks time after they drew with Eire Og Annacarty in their opening game. This leaves the group wide open after the first round of games. JK Brackens are already assured of a place in the Preliminary Quarter Finals after their Mid Championship victory.

The attention this weekend will turn to football as we take on Ardfinnan in the opening round of the Senior County Football Championship. The game will throw in in Leahy Park Cashel at 7pm. Please keep an eye on the club’s social media pages for ticket information.
Ladies Football
Our ladies footballers took on Rockvale Rovers next Friday the 22nd at 6pm in Dr Morris Park. They ran out comfortable winners on the night on a scoreline of 2-20 to 0-5 points. The game was streamed by CK Streaming and is available to view on their YouTube Channel.

Their next outing is this Friday evening at 8pm in Cuguilla against Holycross.

Inter-County Management
Over the weekend it was announced that Loughmore – Castleiney man Declan Laffan will link up with Liam Cahill as part of his senior hurling backroom team for next year. Declan has achieved tremendous success on the sideline with Loughmore. He was the manager when we achieved our first County Senior Hurling and Football double in 2013 and followed that up with further football wins in 2014 and 2016. He has since gone on to have a great impact with Clough Ballacolla in Laois guiding them to county hurling title wins in 2020 and 2021 as well as a Leinster Hurling Final appearance in 2021. We wish Declan, Liam, and all the Tipp backroom and players the very best for next season.
Tipperary Legends v Limerick
On Saturday the 13th of August a challenge match between Tipperary and Limerick legends will take place in Boher GAA pitch, Limerick at 2pm. The game is being organised in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital and our own Micheal Webster will be lining out in the blue and gold once more. Tickets for the event are €10, under 16s can attend for €5, while under 5s go free.
