Inter-county Action
It is a busy time for our inter county players at the moment.
Last Sunday saw the Tipperary senior hurlers narrowly defeated by Waterford in Walsh Park. Noel McGrath’s efforts were rewarded with a Fiserv player of the match award which was well deserved in a performance that saw Noel hit 4 points from play as well as two frees. John McGrath came off the bench in the second half.
This Sunday John and Noel have both been named to start against Clare in FBD Semple Stadium while Brian McGrath has been named on the bench. The game throws in at 2pm. Tickets must be purchased from Ticketmaster online, Centra, or Supervalue in advance of the game. There will be no ticket sales at the venue. The game will be shown live on RTÉ.
Eoin O’Connell started wing back for the Tipp minor footballers on Thursday night in an impressive win against Waterford on a scoreline of 3-20 to 2-3. Shane Hennessy is a member of the backroom team.
On Wednesday the 27th the Tipperary under 20 hurlers will take on Cork in the Munster Semi-Final in FBD Semple Stadium. Ed Connolly and Ciaran McCormack are both a part of the panel.
On Saturday the 23rd the Tipperary Camogie team will take on Limerick in the TUS Gaelic Grounds in a double header with the Munster Senior Hurling Championship game between Limerick and Waterford.
Aoife McGrath is named to start at wing back while he sister Eimear will start from the bench. Niamh Treacy will start in midfield while Mairead Eviston makes a welcome return to the match day squad after a knee injury.
