Hurling and Football Championships

On Saturday our seniors progressed to this year’s County Senior Football Championship Semi-Finals after a 1-10 to 0-11 point win over Kilsheelan Kilcash. A close game in Leahy Park was ultimately decided by John Ryan’s powerful first half goal. At the time of writing the draw has not yet been made for the Semi-Finals. We join Upperchurch Drombane, Clonmel Commercials, and Moyle Rovers in the pot. Upperchurch and Clonmel cannot meet again having met in the group stages so our opponents will be one of the two.

On Sunday our Intermediates exited this year’s championship after a defeat to a very strong Mullinahone team. This was a tough year for our Intermediates as several players were called up to then senior team as a result of injuries. We thank the players and management for their commitment this year.

This weekend is a big hurling weekend for the club. On Saturday we face Drom & Inch in the County Senior Hurling Quarter Final. The game throws in at 4pm in Semple Stadium and will be shown live on RTÉ.
