COMÓRTAS PEILE PÁIDI Ó SÉ

Last weekend our footballers made the journey down to Kerry to play the 2022 Comórtas Peile Paidi Ó Sé.

We were victorious in our first game against Arva of Cavan on a scoreline of 3-8 to 0-8 points but were defeated by the local side Lispole in the final.

Inter-county Action

Last weekend was a busy weekend for our players on senior inter-county panels in the National Hurling and Football Leagues.

On the football panel both Willie Eviston and Sean O’Connell started for Tipp as they got their first win of the campaign. Tipperary defeated Sligo on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-9.

On the hurling panel Brian McGrath will make his first start of the year for Tipp while his brothers John and Noel came off the bench. Tipp recovered well after the introduction of our two club men but cam just short of clinching any of the points on offer with a one point defeat the outcome. The final score was 0-21 to 2-16.

On Sunday the hurlers travel to Waterford to face the Deise at 1:45 in Walsh Park while the footballers will play the rescheduled game against Wexford in Wexford Park on the same day at 2pm. Brian and John McGrath are selected to start for the hurlers with Noel McGrath starting on the bench. For the footballers Sean O’Connell is selected to start at centre back with Willie Eviston and Tommy Maher making the bench.
