Loughmore Castleiney GAA Weekly Notes 22nd June 2021




Following the resumption of Gaelic games in division and County after a long lay off the club has been heavily involved in junior and senior league competitions.
Our senior hurlers, as holders of the Cahill cup, following a comprehensive defeat by Moycarkey were eliminated from the competition.
Our first outing in the County league was v Toomevara in Toomevara on Tuesday night last and while the view was that we gave a much improved display we lost to the homeside on a 0-16 to 3-19 scoreline.
Our junior A hurlers suffered a first round 2-20 to 5-24 defeat by Thurles Sarsfields in the Mid league, but on Friday last had a good 3-24 to 2-18 victory over Drom to remain in contention.
Our junior C hurlers, having suffered a first round defeat to Thurles Gaels 0-10 to 3-18 faced Thurles Sarsfields in Castleiney on Sunday morning but once again were beaten 0-16 to 4-21.

Fixtures: On this Friday night our junior A hurlers face J K Brackens in Templemore at 7.30pm.
On Saturday 26th June in Castleiney at 7.30pm junior C hurling v Killea.
On Sunday June 27th at 12noon County senior hurling league division 1 v Kilruane.
