Loughmore Castleiney GAA Weekly Notes 20th July 2021
20 Jul 2021Our U/19B hurlers had a 2-21 to 3-14 victory over Gortnahoe in Castleiney on Wednesday night last.
Junior A Hurling: Our junior A hurlers continue to impress in the Mid division one league and after two recent victories over Moycarkey and Holycross we now top the table and we now face fourth place Moycarkey in the semi final. This game will go ahead this Tuesday night in Littleton at 7.45pm for a place in the final.
Our seniors continue to prepare for the championship with a possible August 29th date for the first round of hurling.
We say hard luck to our players on Sunday last in the Munster hurling final where a fantastic first half followed by a disastrous second period gave victory to Limerick.
Best wishes to Conor McGrath with U/20 footballers in the Munster final v Cork.

Mid U/13 Football C Final: On Tuesday evening last before a huge attendance in Drom our team put in an excellent performance despite losing 3-01 to 2-06 to a fine Durlas Og team. Having suffered a convincing defeat to the Thurles boys in the first game they rose magnificently to the occasion only to be pipped with two late points. With some fine performances on the evening they can build on this performance and with very young players on board the future looks promising.
Congratulations: On behalf of the senior and juvenile clubs we offer our congratulations and best wishes to club stalwart Dominic Brennan on the occasion of his recent marriage to Lorraine Sweeney. We wish them every success and happiness for the future.
