LOUGHMORE/CASTLEINEY GAA CLUB Weekly Notes 18th March 2019
20 Mar 2019Senior Hurling League: On Monday last our senior hurlers travelled to Nenagh for Division one league game v the home side.
With the playing grounds overall in pretty soft conditions this was a good hard fought encounter throughout. Having played against the stiff wind in the first half we trailed 0-07 to 1-07 at the break.
With a very strong performance from the team against the wind we finished deserving 1-18 to 1-15 winners and taking our first points of the league. Overall with championship approaching this was a timely victory over strong opponents.
Minor Football: On St. Patrick’s Day in Castleiney our minor B footballers with a mixed performance finished very strongly against a fancied Boherlahan outfit and emerged 1-13 to 1-07 winners to finish top of the group and a possible Mid final spot.
Our Division four hurling league game fixed for Saturday v Mullinahone fell victim of ground conditions.
At our recent club meeting Taffy McGrath was appointed intermediate football and junior hurling manager for 2019.
Card Game: The club are holding a Monster card game in Loughmore Hall on Wednesday March 27th with 1000.00 euro prize fund. Tickets are on sale at 10.00 euro each.
