Loughmore Castleiney GAA Club Weekly Notes 15 January 2019

U/21 A Football:  The 2019 championship kicked off on Sunday last where our U/21 A footballers played J K Brackens in Cuiguilla.  Having to field without some of our stronger players through injury and unavailability it ended with a victory for J K Brackens on a score of 6-13 to 1-07. Played in ideal conditions for the time of year and wind assisted in the first half we still trailed 0-03 to 2-07 at the break and despite their best efforts in the second half we could not penetrate a very strong Brackens outfit. We must now win our two remaining games to reach the semi final.

Minor B Football:  On Sunday next a 2pm in Cuiguilla our minor B footballers face Moyne T/Thurles Gaels in a first round fixture.

At our recent adjourned convention Shane Hennessy was appointed U/21 manager and Tom McGrath(K) was appointed minor hurling and football manager. Intermediate football appointments was held over. Chairman

Eugene Stapleton passed a vote of sympathy to Donal Dwyer on the passing of his wife. R.I.P.   Sympathy:  On behalf of the senior and juvenile club we offer our sympathy to all the families connected to the parish on their recent bereavements.
