Loughmore Castleiney GAA Club Notes 1 October
01 Oct 2018Senior Hurling: On Tuesday night last in Borrisoleigh our senior hurlers overcame Killenaule in a preliminary quarter final on a 3-12 to 1-16 scoreline.
Having trailed by five points going into the last quarter and injuries mounting they made a great come back to reach the quarter finals.
On Sunday last it was on to Dolla to face Nenagh Eire Og and while no stone was left unturned in the preparation to sufficiently sort the large number of injuries prevailing, the turn around was insufficient to have the necessary effect.
However, on the day we can not take from the Nenagh men’s performance as they ran out 0-18 to 2-17 winners and we wish them well in the semi final.
However we now can turn to the football scene where we will face Ardfinnan in the County semi final on October 14th. While the time period may not be enough for some injuries to heal we now have to get on with the hand we are dealt in an effort to reach the County final.
Sympathy; We offer our sympathy to the family and sister of the late Liam Ryan (Tralee), a former player with the club RIP
