Loughmore Castleiney GAA Club News 17th September

Mid Senior Hurling Final: Our Mid hurling final with Thurles Sarsfields ended in stalemate, when after extra time plus an extra ten minutes spell both sides ended on a 2-28 each score line.

While we can be very satisfied with the result having to field without Brian McGrath and Noel a late withdrawal with a quad strain from the previous Tuesday nights football encounter, the losing of an eight point lead with just seven minutes remaining was a cause for disappointment.

It looks like the replay will be on hold due to the three way play off for County championship.

Intermediate Football: On Tuesday night last our footballers had a convincing win over Moycarkey at rain soaked Dr. Morris Park 1-14 to 0-07. This result now faces a three way play off with Moyle Rovers and Templetuohy and ourselves.

Senior Football: On this Friday night a 8pm in Clonoulty we face Arravale Rovers in the County quarter final. This is a huge game for the lads in a quest for a County title.

Our club lotto now stands at 9,350.00 euro.

Juvenile Club: Our best wishes to our U/12 hurling team who play their County final at the weekend.

Our annual bag packing will take place in Dunnes Stores, Thurles from Thursday 20th from 5 to 9pm, Friday 21st 5 to 9pm and Saturday 22nd 10am to 6pm. Please support. Anyone interested in helping out can contact John O’ Connell on 086/2754270
