LOUGHMORE/CASTLEINEY G.A.A. CLUB Weekly Notes 8th July 2019

Minor Hurling: On Wednesday evening last in Templetuohy our minor hurlers suffered a big defeat at the hands of Moyne/Templetuohy/Thurles Gaels combo 1-10 to 2-17.
Having played second fiddle to the stronger outfit we trailed 1-03 to 1-11 at the interval. We now face Holycross on this Wednesday evening at 7.30 in Castleiney.

Junior Hurling: On Friday evening last our junior hurlers qualified from their group to Mid semi final by virtue of a 1-21 to 0-10 victory over Moycarkey in Castleiney.
This was a better performance from the lads than in the last outing and with a few players to return can still be strong contestants.

For other fixtures see diary.

Golf Classic: Our annual Golf Classic on Saturday last at Thurles Golf Club once again proved a good success. Our thanks to the organisers John O’Connell and co. and all who participated on the day. The prizes were presented to the winners in Nolan’s Bar, Castleieny on Sunday night. The winning team was Tom and Siobhan McGrath, Mary Ormond and Deirdre Gleeson. Congratulations to all the winners.

Best Wishes: The club offers a speedy recovery to Jay Shorley who on Sunday morning had the misfortune to break his leg in U/16 game v Upperchurch which was called off.
