LOUGHMORE/CASTLEINEY G.A.A. CLUB Weekly Notes 18th May 2021
18 May 2021On Tuesday evening last May 11th the adult players resumed training following lockdown restrictions. It was pleasing to see activity once again at the grounds where another milestone was reached with the opening of our new ball wall and astro turf facilities.
What a magnificent set up is now at the players disposal from juvenile to senior and when the walk way and lighting is completed it will certainly be up with the best with a 90×45 metre area of astro turf.
It is still uncertain when club activity will resume to championship level but at least our players and management are in full preparation for its welcome resumption.
County Scene: On Saturday evening last at Semple Stadium the three McGrath brothers were at the spine of the Tipperary hurlers in the drawn game with Cork with Noel captaining the team, where we congratulate him on his appointment as vice captain for the season.
Sympathy: On behalf of the club we offer our sympathy to the family of Ailbe Allen, Templemore. Ailbe played with Castleiney for many years in the early fifties. Also to Micheal Webster on the passing of his father-in-law and to the Quinn family, formally Kilcurkee on the death of Sean in England. Sean played with the club in his juvenile days. R.I.P.
