LOUGHMORE/CASTLEINEY G.A.A. CLUB Weekly Notes 15 April 2019

County Championship Senior Football: On Saturday evening last in bitterly cold conditions in Golden our team defeated a fancied Kilsheelan side 2-09 to 0-04.
Unlike their senior senior hurling second half display the previous week, it was an excellent second half display in to the strong wind that decided this first round Group 3 game. They had led 0-07 to 0-03 at the interval.
Our two remaining games in this group will be against Cahir and Aherlow to be played a later stage.

Intermediate Football: Again in cold conditions in Littleton on Sunday morning last a pretty poor performance from our team ended in a 0-06 to 0-09 defeat by Moyle Rovers.
Having played against the wind in the first half the sides were level at 0-03 each at the break and in with a strong chance of victory. But a stronger South team dictated to run out winners at the finish. With games v Golden and J K Brackens remaining in this group 1 section it is going to make it difficult to qualify from same.

Fixtures: This Wednesday evening at 7.15 in Castleiney Mid junior hurling league game v Boherlahan.

Sympathy: Our sympathy to the McGrath family, Castlequarter on the passing of Biddy’s sister during the past week.
