06 Aug 2018County Senior Hurling League Final: On Wednesday night last in Moneygall our senior hurlers were crowned Division 2 County league champions by virtue of a hard earned 4-14 to 3-16 victory over Kilruane
Having gained a six point lead midway through the first half we trailed at the interval 1-08 to 2-08. The same lead was had once more in the second half but was hauled back to level scores but John McGrath had the winning point on the stroke of time for victory.
Following the game the Jim Devitt Cup was presented to captain Noel McGrath by County vice chairman Joe Kennedy, adding to the Cahill Cup senior hurling and the Ryan Cup Mid senior football.
Minor Hurling: On Tuesday night last in Castleiney our minor B hurlers had an enexpected victory over Thurles Sarsfields(B) team 6-25 to 1-09 in Mid quarter final.
They now face Drom on this Thursday evening at 7.15 in Mid semi final Templemore.
Senior Hurling: On Saturday 11th August at 3.30pm in the Ragg we face Borrisoleigh in the second round group game of the County championship. Having lost our first round game to Kiladangan no room for errors remain if we are to remain in Dan Breen hunt. All panel to attend on time for this hugely important fixture.
The following weekend we will be involved in County senior football v J K Brackens and v Templetuohy in County intermediate football.
