LC Weekly Notes 15th December 2021
15 Dec 2021Following nineteen successive weekends in action, culminating in bringing football and hurling County titles, our hurlers were defeated 0-12 to 2-11 by Waterford’s Ballygunner in the Munster club semi final in Dungarvan on Sunday last.
Played on a surface that could only be described as rugby like of years past made life difficult for players and was certainly a huge step back from the carpet like conditions of Semple Stadium. That said and despite the now well highlighted decisions that prevailed over the hour, this was an incredible performance from the team overall as having to line out without players of the calibre of Willie Eviston and Liam Treacy was in itself a severe blow.
A huge amount of credit must go to players, management, coaches, trainers, physio, sponsors, training fund subscribers and all the loyal supporters who followed this group each week and despite the huge disappointment of last Sunday applauded the team off the field at the finish.
Take a well earned rest all. It’s well deserved.
Photographic Book: Please note that a few copies of our book are available from Eugene Stapleton 086/7833710 . This would make an ideal Christmas gift.
