Club Notes 8th October 2023
09 Oct 2023Ladies Football

Congrats to our ladies football panel who were crowned county champions last Saturday in Cappawhite against Moyne Templetouhy on a score line of 3-13 to 1-06. It was a super performance by the girls from start to finish. What an achievement winning another county title this year. Attention now turns to Munster where we will play the cork champions O Donovan Rossa in the Munster quarter final next Saturday 2pm in Templetouhy.

Junior Cs
Congratulations to our Junior C hurlers who qualified for this year’s mid final with a 5-21 to 1-7 victory of Upperchurch-Drombane. Fixture details to follow.
Under 19 and 21
The u19 football team bowed out of the championship on Saturday when they lost to a very polished Kilsheelan side in the County semi final in Fethard. The South champions had a terrific start and half way through the first half we knew we were going to have to dig deep to get a result but we just couldn’t break down a very stubborn defence and at the other end, Kilsheelan were punishing us for ill discipline as their free taker was on form and they led 1-10 to 0-3 pts at the short whistle. The second half didn’t really go our way despite a decent start and despite some really decent performances from our boys, Kilsheelan continued to attack at pace and the final score of 4-16 to 0-7 didn’t really do justice to the effort from so many of our team. These boys and their management team have given us some great days this year and they should be very proud of how they handled themselves in victory and defeat.
With the u19 championships consigned to the history books, we now look forward to the start of the u21 competitions. Training will commence on Friday night so look out for the text messages.
Juvenile Club
Our U15’s overcame a stiff challenge from St. Patrick’s to win their Shield semifinal on a scoreline of 1-15 to 3-07 in Killenaule. It was their finest performance this year and they appear to be peaking at the right time. There was great support from the parish at the match which lifted the lads and they now take on Emly next weekend in the final.
