Club Notes 2nd April 2023
02 Apr 2023County Leagues

On Sunday evening our Senior hurlers were defeated by Templederry Kenyons on a scoreline of 1-23 to 0-14. We are still down a number of players due to injury and intercounty commitment but there were some positive displays during the game despite the final result.

A big thank you to our three mascots for today’s game! Holly McAuliffe Loughmore NS, William Harrahill Castleiney NS, and Sam Green Leugh NS.
On Good Friday our Junior Cs will take on Clerihan in Castleiney at 6:30pm in a rescheduled fixture.
Intercounty Action
On Wednesday the 5th of April the Tipperary U20 hurlers play their second match of the Munster Championship in Cork at 7.30pm. Best wishes to Ciaran McCormack and teammates.
On Monday 10th, Easter Monday, the U20 footballers take on Clare in Semple Stadium and we have Eoin O’Connell, Paul McCahey and Ed Meagher on the panel. This competition is straight knockout unlike the hurling equivalent which is played on a group basis so hopefully the lads can get a win and progress further into the competition. Best of luck lads.
Post Primary Action
The Our Lady’s U16.5 Football team played the Munster Final on Wednesday last in UL against St Pats of Castleisland and their great run ended in defeat on a score line of 3-9 to 2-15. The 3 goals were scored by the Loughmore boys with one each for Mikey, Joey and Richie. The boys were responsible for 3-5 of the total so well done to the lads and all those involved.
The school Rice Cup team beat Charleville CBS on Thursday and Loughmore were represented by Cathal Ryan, Lee Danaher and Daniel McDonald.
Juvenile Club
Our U13 football team continued it’s good run of form on Tuesday evening with a hard fought victory over Drom and Inch on a score line of 3-6 to 2-8. This was their second win of the campaign and puts them in second place in the league at the moment.
Our U15 football team played a challenge in Cuguilla on Sunday morning against Newport as they continue their preparations for the upcoming feile. This takes place in Cahir on Saturday and all support welcome.
During half time in the Senior League vs Templederry on Sunday evening, 13 of our U9 team played an exhibition hurling match and their enthusiasm was fantastic to witness.

Cathal Ryan
Away from the GAA, our minor player Cathal Ryan of the village was in action in the All Ireland Finals of the high jump U18 on Sunday morning in Athlone and with a jump of 1.80 metres he came home with the gold medal. Congrats on a great victory Cathal.
