Intercounty Action
The Tipperary Senior Hurlers saw their campaign come to an end on Saturday evening in Limerick with a 1-18 to 1-20 defeat against Galway in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Quarter Final. A game which saw Tipp struggle to get into gear was still in the melting pot late on but unfortunately a John McGrath goal was not enough to help Tipp through to the semi-finals of this year’s competition. Hard luck to Noel, John, Brian, Ciaran, and Declan. The lads will have a bit of a break for a few weeks and will be back ready for club championship action.
There was better news for our County Camogie team who travelled to Bellfield, Enniscorthy in the 2nd Round of the Glen-Dimplex All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship earlier on Saturday. A 3-15 to 0-12 point win over hosts Wexford has now confirmed a minimum of a 1/4 final appearance. A win next Saturday evening in Nowlan Park against reigning All-Ireland Champions Kilkenny could see them straight into an All-Ireland semi and by pass the 1/4 finals but with three groups it will mean a win and some luck in the draw will be required. Aoife and Eimear McGrath started the game for Tipp while Mairead Eviston came on at half time with Niamh Treacy appearing as a 2nd half substitute.

Juvenile Notes
Our under 9s and Under 7s travelled to Moyne Templetuohy this morning to take part in a hurling and football blitz with Clonakenny and Gortnahoe. It was a brilliant morning of fun and games. Thanks to Jody Sweeney for organising and to the Moyne Templetuohy Gaa club for providing refreshments for both kids and parents.
Our u11 football team played Moyne Templetouhy in Cuguilla this morning in the go games competition. It was a very evenly match encounter with fantastic football played from both teams but through some great teamwork for our boys and girls we came away with a well deserved victory. Our next scheduled game is against Clonakenna on Saturday 1st of July in the hurling competition.
Our Under 13 will play Moycarkey Borris in Littleton at 7pm on Tuesday the 27th of June.
