Senior hurling

Well done to the Senior hurling team who ground out a fine win against Nenagh in Borrisoleigh on Sunday. This game was played at a furious pace with the action flowing from end to end and some fine scores despite a very tricky wind. Ed Connolly had the ball in the Nenagh net after just 35 seconds and we stayed in front until the 18th minute of the second half when Jake Morris converted a penalty that he had won himself. The next 10 minutes saw points exchanged until Ciarán McCormack got in behind the defence and made no mistake as he buried the ball past the Nenagh goalkeeper. We were 3 points up five minutes into injury time when Nenagh were awarded a 21 yard free but the shot was deflected over the bar and that was that. Final score 2-20 to 1-21.
Ladies Football
The ladies had their final championship game vs Moycarkey on Wednesday night and once again they found the pace of the game at this level to be just a step too far. They kept on trying to the end and great credit is due to the panel and management who have given their all this year with very little to show for it. Hopefully we can strengthen and expand the panel for next year.

U11

Loughmore Castleiney Under 11s participated in a hurling blitz in Semple Stadium on Wednesday 14th of August. We played Ballygunner, St. Patrick’s of Limerick and Moneygall. A great experience playing on the pitch followed by a tour of the dressing rooms and lifting the minor and under 20 trophies up in the new stand.
