Senior Hurling

On Sunday afternoon, our Senior Hurlers defeated JK Brackens with an exceptional performance that saw us 11 points up at the break. Tómas McGrath scored the first goal while Paul McCahey added the second towards the end of the game for a 12-point win. Noel McGrath with six points from play was named Man of the Match on TG4. Full time score was 2-32-2-20.

Mid U19A Football Championship Quarter-Final (3-15 – 3-11) last Wednesday saw us play Moycarkey-Borris. It was a close and high scoring game in which we got the result to earn our place in the Mid Semi final (fixture details tbc).

Juvenile Results

Congratulations to our U13B Hurlers who won the Mid Championship against Upperchurch-Drombane on Saturday. After defeating Gortnahoe Glengoole (6-9 – 7-3) in the semi-final on Tuesday, the team put in a fantastic performance with a huge defensive effort in the rain in Templemore to win by two points (3-3 – 1-7).

Guest Editor’s Notes

This week’s club notes were written by Charlie Evans (Cullen, in London and best county PRO in the family!). A couple years ago, my brother Ben and I shared a document detailing all Loughmore-Castleiney senior matches in hurling and football since 1981.

As requested, we have now included these on a website which can be viewed by all at any time via this link: https://sites.google.com/view/loughmore-castleiney-gaa-stats/home

Best of luck to all Loughmore-Castleiney teams for the rest of the year!
