Club Notes 22nd October 2023
23 Oct 2023Minor and 21
The u21 Mid football championship kicked off on Saturday evening with a game against Moycarkey in Cuguilla. We have a fine panel of players in this age group with plenty of Senior experience and the lads ground out a fine victory on a score line of 2-10 to 1-8. We had built up a 10 point advantage early in the second half before Moycarkey had a purple patch and only some wayward shooting and fine goalkeeping kept us in the lead. We did however get back into stride at the end and now look forward to a Mid Final, possibly next weekend. We lost Bill Ryan and Ed Meagher to accidental head clashes very early in the game and we wish both lads a speedy recovery
On Sunday morning the same two teams lined out in the u17 championship In Cuguilla but victory on this occasion went to Moycarkey on a score line of 3-10 to 5-7. This competition is a round robin so plenty more chances to progress
Training for both age groups will continue so keep up the attendance and watch the WhatsApp groups for details.
Camogie
Congratulations to Drom & Inch who secured a 5th successive County Senior Camogie title on Saturday in the Ragg. A one point victory (2-9 to 0-14) in a dramatic contest which had many of our own girls involved. Captain Mairead Eviston was presented with the Bernie O’Dowd Perpetual Cup as well as the Player of the Match award.

They now go forward to Munster where they will take on De La Salle of Waterford in the Munster Semi Final.
