Ronan Stapleton Memorial Tournament

The Ronan Stapleton Memorial tournament took place in Cuguilla on Saturday 21st February 2026. Despite the wet conditions a great morning’s hurling was had where we got the better of a strong Tullaroan team in the semi-final with Moyne Templetuohy beating Gorthnohoo Glengoole in the other semi. Moyne Templetuohy had the better of exchanges in the first half of the final but we showed the Loughmore Castleiney fighting spirit to fight back in the second half and scored a goal with the last puck of normal time to take the game to extra time. Unfortunately, that’s as good as it got, and a slightly stronger Moyne Templetuohy team won out in the end.

Ger Ryan – GAA President Campaign

We would like to wish Ger Ryan of Templederry Kenyons the best of luck in his campaign for the prestigious role of GAA President next Saturday at Congress in Croke Park. Ger has been a fantastic ambassador for Tipperary GAA and we are sure that with all his experience, he would no doubt thrive in the role of GAA President.

Intercounty Hurling

The three McGrath brothers are busy representing Tipperary during the league campaign. This weekend Noel scored 6 points from play with John coming in and getting two points from placed balls in a tough game against Limerick. This leaves Tipperary in third position on the leaderboard with 4 points going into Round 4 with Waterford and Kilkenny left to play.

Intercounty Football

Eoin O’Connell is flying the flag for Loughmore Castleiney with the Tipperary Senior Footballers. Eoin played at corner back for the opening two games against London and Antrim, however,  sustained an injury that forced him out of the game against Carlow but was back playing at corner back against this weekend’s draw with Longford. This leaves Tipperary in 4th place with Leitrim, Wicklow and Waterford left to play.
