Mid Senior Football
Our mid senior football semi final Vs JK Brackens is currently TBC details of the fixture will be finalised at a later date.
Junior C Hurling
Congratulations to our Junior C Hurling team who captured a third successive Mid title on Saturday. Played in Clonakenny the teams were locked in a stalemate at half time with the scores 1-9 (LC) to 2-6 (TS). We eventually came out 3 point winners with 2-19 to 4-10 on the scoreboard. Captain Noel O’Connell was also presented with the man of the match award.

Under 21 Hurling
On Sunday last the u21 hurlers took on Gortnahoe in the Mid B Final in Holycross. Played in bright sunshine on a rather heavy pitch, the lads made a terrific start and just before mid way through the half we led 1-5 to 0-3. The tricky wind was making free taking difficult for both sides but given that we were playing into the teeth of it, we were in a good position. From here to halftime, Gortnahoe suddenly found another gear and a couple of defensive errors cost us dearly. We shipped 3 goals in 10 minutes and went in at the break behind on a score of 3-9 to 1-7. The half time break didn’t really change the pattern of play despite an early exchange of points it was Gortnahoe who found their range and picked off the scores at will. With just about 10 minutes on the clock our early 5 point lead was now a 12 point deficit. A couple of positional changes saw the momentum swing our way and for the next few minutes we really took the game to the Gortnahoe backs and were rewarded with a trio of goals and a few points to close the gap to 3. We were now in the driving seat but unfortunately the stopwatch beat us. The final score was 3-20 to 4-13.
We will surely look back on this game and wonder what happened us either side of halftime but the lads dug deep and can be proud of their efforts. It’s a young team with the majority still eligible next year so we can look forward with hope. Congratulations to Gortnahoe who played a great brand of hurling and best of luck to them in the County series.
