Senior Hurling Rd 1

We met neighbours Drom/Inch in the opening round of the competition on Saturday last. With a good opening half and going into the break leading by 4 points it was all to play for. The second half did not disappoint with our opponents coming more into the game, and at 63 minutes the sides were brought level when Seamie Callanan scored a goal from a 21-yard free. In the 64^th a last gasp free which John McGrath hit backwards to Aidan McGrath who took the puck of the day to score a long-range point in the final play of the match. (2-18 to 1-20).

Fortunes were not on our side in the Premier Junior A hurling quarter final with a midday throw in on Sunday against Holycross/Ballycahill. (3-14 to 3.23). U19A Hurling prelim qtr. final we lost to Drom/Inch by a point.

Fixtures

Senior Football Championship Rd1 on Friday 15^th Aug we meet Killenaule at 7.30pm in Gortnahoe GAA grounds.

Juvenile News

U13B hurling quarter final on Tuesday at 6.30pm in Castleiney and on Thursday U15B will play Moyne/Templetuohy at 6.30pm in Templetuohy.

U7s travelled to Holycross taking part in a blitz, well done to everyone.

Ladies Football

On Sunday night the ladies played Moycarkey in Castleiney. Whilst there was lots of improvement since the start of the championship we recorded a loss.
