CLUB NOTES 04/02/24

Under 13 trip to Dubin

On Saturday 3rd of February our u13 hurlers travelled to Dublin to take on Naomh Olaf’s in a return game. It was a low scoring first half with Olaf’s leading 4 points to 2 at half time. The second half however saw a much improved display of teamwork, energy and score taking, outscoring the opposition by 1.09 to 1.02. Final score Loughmore / Castleiney 1.11 to Naomh Olaf’s 1.06. After the game we got set to head to Parnell Park to see Tipperary take on Dublin, not before being spoilt to a fantastic lunch in their club house. Another great day had by all and great memories made. A special thanks to Naomh Olaf’s for hosting us today. Thanks also to both the parents and our club for making today a great success.

John McGrath was in action with the Tipp hurlers in their victory over Dublin last Saturday and showed plenty of his experience and ability in a very solid team performance. Galway is next up on Saturday next in Semple Stadium.

Best of luck to Shane Hennessy and Ml Donnellan and their management team who announced their Minor Football panel for this year’s championship. After a busy winter of training we wish them the best of luck for the year.

Enrollment for the crèche in Loughmore is starting now for September 2024.

Noel McGrath

Noel had a lovely interview with the Irish Times during the week and it’s a great read with his enthusiasm for the year ahead very evident as he begins his 17th year playing adult hurling and football.
