Up for the Match appreciation

The precursor to the All-Ireland Hurling Final was hosted at the Club grounds which came alive with a vibrant gathering of over 400 parishioners and visitors. We were delighted to accept the invitation from RTE which gave us the opportunity to honour our County representatives Noel, John & Brian McGrath and Declan Laffan. The event was a true celebration of community spirit, with RTÉ commenting that the region’s deep-rooted values were clearly on display.

Despite the short timeframe, preparations were carried out with remarkable dedication. Sincere appreciation goes out to the many volunteers who made it all possible: all the members who ensured the venue was spotless; catering teams who provided & served refreshments. Thanks to Ian Davies & Aidan Harrahill for Agri services help and to the Treacy family who generously offered their field for car parking. Jimmy Butler, TFM for delivering TVs to screen the show. Seamus Bohan, for the use of his tractor. Diarmuid Brennan, who captured the occasion in photographs (available at this link: 19th July 2025 – Up for the match – Loughmore Castleiney – Sports Focus for complimentary download and printing). Thanks to the musicians Michael Treacy, Darragh Nolan, Paddy Quinn & Michael O’Connell who entertained with music and songs all night! The car parking stewards for ensuring everyone arrived and departed safely. Thanks also to the following businesses who supported us: Premier Meats, Star Systems, Noel Ryan’s pub, Thurles Milk, Ryan Environmental Services, CM Signs & JP Electrical.  Premier Marquees and Jim Nolan who provided services at short notice. RTE were delighted to have the skilled forklift services of Jerry Stapleton. Thank you to Jonathan Cullen for kindly gifting 2 All Ireland match tickets to the Club which were raffled on the night.
