Senior Hurling League

Our senior hurlers were out in action this Sunday in Rd 3 of the County Senior Hurling League. A strong overall performance from our lads and we ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-23 to 0-20. This leaves us in third place on the leaderboard. Next game is against Carrick Swans on the weekend of 25th/26th of April.

2025 Mid Senior Football Championship

The Mid Senior Football Championship from 2025 has not yet been played and is due to be played before the month of April is finished. Last year, we were given a walkover by Drom Inch in the semi final. The other semi final between JK Brackens and Upperchurch Drombane is due to take place on Tuesday 21st April with the final being played on Tuesday 28th April.

Intercounty Football

Well done to Eoin O’Connell and the Tipperary Senior Footballers who defeated Waterford on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-7. Tipperary will now face Cork in the semi final in FBD Semple Stadium on Saturday 25th. We wish Eoin and the team the best of luck in their preparations.

Intercounty Hurling

Best of luck to Noel, John and Brian McGrath and Declan Laffan (selector) as the kick off their 2026 defence of the Liam McCarthy cup against Cork in Semple Stadium this coming Sunday, a repeat of last years All Ireland final.

Golf Classic

Our annual Golf Classic is taking place on Friday 15th May in Thurles Golf Club. For tee time bookings please contact John O’Connell on 086 275 4270. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for anyone who does not play golf. We will be encouraging all members to support what is such an essential fundraiser to the running of the club.

Easter Camp 2026

The club’s Easter Camp took place from April 7th to 9th, running from 10am to 1pm, and was a great success with a fantastic turnout of primary school children across the parish.

Over the three days, the kids enjoyed a brilliant mix of hurling, football, plyometric exercises and fun games, keeping everyone active and engaged throughout. A real highlight of the camp was the visit of inter-county players Ronan Maher, John McGrath, Rhys Shelly and Brian McGrath, who demonstrated skills and shared tips that the children can continue to practise at home.

The weather held up well for most of the camp, adding to the positive atmosphere, and all participants received a new Loughmore Castleiney training jersey to take home. Feedback from both children and parents has been extremely positive, with fun had by all over the three days.

A sincere thank you to everyone who helped make the camp such a success. Special thanks to John Scully for leading the excellent plyometric sessions and organising the visiting county players. Thanks also to all the coaches who gave their time and delivered such enjoyable and varied activities, to Sadie O’Connoll for her help with the clubhouse and photography, and to the Juvenile Committee for their ongoing support. Appreciation is also extended to everyone else who assisted in any way throughout the camp – your efforts made a big difference.

U14 Football Championship

Our under 14 footballers played J.K. Brackens last Wednesday evening April 8th in Templemore.   We unfortunately came up short losing 2-13 to 3-07 despite a strong second performance and missing key players. Our next game is this coming Wednesday evening April 15th in Castleiney against Holycross Ballycahill.
