CLUB NOTES 15/09/24

Plenty of action on the fields this past week and we start with the main event. The Senior hurling quarterfinal vs Kilruane McDonaghs in the Stadium on Sunday was a real battle which was in the melting pot until very close to the end. Two late goals following errors in the Kilruane defence were finished by Ciaran McCormack and Liam McGrath and were ultimately the difference as we marched on to a County Semi Final. The final score was 2-22 to 1-19.

The U 19 footballers took on Moyne Templetuohy in the Mid Final on Wednesday and had to give best to a much slicker outfit on the night. 6-08 to 2-05 was not a true reflection of the game overall as we had some very good passages of play and took some nice scores but at the end of the day goals win games.

The u17 hurlers were in action in Bansha on Sunday morning against the local lads and unfortunately they were beaten on a score line of 1-13 to 1-10.

Last but by no means least the u13 boys played Lattin Cullen in the County Semi finals on Saturday and they have really given the whole parish a lift. After a great Mid Final win they took on the West champions and this was a fantastic game of hurling with great skill and determination in evidence from both sides.  The final whistle saw us ahead 2-10 to 1-09 and we now play Ballinahinch/Templederry in the final.
