08 Sep 2025Senior Hurling
Loughmore-Castleiney enjoyed a comfortable victory over Lorrha in the final round of the Championship on Saturday. Lorrha started brightly and led early on, with Loughmore only drawing level by the 14th minute before an Ed Connolly goal four minutes later swung momentum, opening up a four-point gap. A strong scoring spell followed, leaving it 1-14 to 1-07 at the interval.
John McGrath struck a rasping goal within seconds of the restart, and Loughmore-Castleiney pushed on to the closing stages to seal a commanding 3-26 to 1-17 win. It was a great opportunity for the younger panel players to get experience on the senior stage.
LGFA: Our ladies footballers played their final match of the season against Mullinahone. A sincere thank you to all players and mentors for their commitment and team spirit throughout the year, despite what proved to be a challenging campaign.

U17B Mid Hurling Semi-final on 1st September, our combination team faced Boherlahan-Dualla in a tightly contested semi-final. After a lively first half, the sides went in level at the break, setting up an exciting second half. Scores were traded evenly through the third quarter, but Boherlahan gradually pulled ahead. Despite being reduced to 14 players, they maintained control, and we were unable to make the numerical advantage count. Fulltime score: 3-13 to 3-21.
On Sunday in Killenaule, our U13B hurlers produced a superb display in front of a large crowd to book their place in the County Final. From start to finish it was an exciting contest, with our players showcasing excellent skills in hooking and blocking, along with some outstanding long-range points. In the closing stages, the team dug deep to maintain a seven-point cushion and secure a well-deserved victory. Congratulations to all players and coaches, and best of luck in the final. Fulltime score 4-07 to 2-06.
