Loughmore-Castleiney overcame JK Brackens in the second round of the Championship on Sunday afternoon, securing a five-point win. Facing a strong wind in the opening half, Liam McGrath opened the scoring after nine minutes before Eamonn Connolly struck for goal, though Brackens led 0-10 to 1-03 at the break. Second-half goals from Philip O’Connell and Liam Treacy, along with six additional points, turned the tide as Loughmore-Castleiney ran out 3-09 to 0-13 winners.
Mid Junior C Hurling versus Holycross-Ballycahill on Saturday evening saw us record a 1-point loss (0-18 to 1-16). We now await quarter final fixtures.
Juvenile Results
U17B Hurling – Well done to the Loughmore-Castleiney/Moyne-Templetuohy combination team who overcame Drom-Inch in a lack lustre quarter final to earn a place in a semi-final against Boherlahan Dualla GAA on Monday 1st September (3-23 to 0-08).
Congratulations to Cathal Ryan (Whitefield) as his U16 County hurling development squad season is drawing to a close.
