Senior Hurling and Football

Well done to our senior hurlers who on Sunday defeated Clonoulty Rossmore in round 4 of the County Senior Hurling Championship on a scoreline of 2-21 to 2-18. A blistering start with two goals from John McGrath and Ciaran McCormack inside the opening five minutes set us up nicely, to hold on eventually for a three point win. This keeps us out of relegation and leaves us finishing in third place in the group. Normally, this would mean the end of the season as it is the top two teams in the group that qualify, however we can now use the wildcard of winning the Mid Senior Hurling Championship earlier in the season which guarantees us a place in the preliminary quarterfinals.

Next weekend our attention turns back to football where we take on Upperchurch Drombane in R3 of the County SFC. With both ourselves and Upperchurch on 2 points each, this is essentially a knockout game, with the winner likely taking second place and qualifying for the group stages. Best of luck to all involved.

Junior Hurling and Football

Our Junior A hurlers are out in action on Tuesday night at 6:45pm in against Thurles Sarsfield in the Mid Semi Final in Toor Killinan. Our Premier Junior Footballers will also be out in action on Friday night in Round 3 of the County Premier JFC, against Borrisokane in Templederry.

Mid Minor Football Final

Hard luck to our Minor Footballers who lost out by the narrowest of margins to neighbours JK Brackens in Mid Final on Wednesday night after extra time. Despite such a spirited performance it was the Brackens that emerged victorious 0-17 to 4-4. While the defeat is inevitably disappointing, it proves how successful that the amalgamation with our friends in Moyne Templetouhy has been given that the lads are now playing football at a top level with the best teams around, which will no doubt stand to both clubs in years to come. We congratulate all involved in such a successful run and wish the lads all the best of luck in the hurling for the rest of the season.

U12 Mid Champions

On Saturday morning all roads lead to Templetuohy as we played Drom Inch in the G2 U12 football Mid final. After a great and sometimes tense game of football we came away with a well deserved win. This was a real team effort with all 22 player available getting game time and put in a huge effort. Thanks to all who helped out on the day and a special mention to Jack Cleary and David Morcan who couldn’t play on the day but played a huge part in getting us to the final.

2026 Cùl Camp

Our club hosted the annual Cùl Camp over the past week. A superb camp was run by camp co-ordinator John Lillis and all his coaches. A special word of thanks to the club volunteers who cleaned the clubhouse and supervised the camp over the five days.
